Constructing the command:

// Set topic and data (required)
Command cmd = new Command(Message.Command.Publish)
                  .setTopic(topic)
                  .setOptions(data);

// Set correlation id
cmd.setCorrelationId(crossRef);

The command can now be used in executeAsync with a null message handler.
